The body has a natural ability to heal itself and maintain good health.  However, this ability is often compromised by a combination of factors that can weaken the body's processes and allows illness to flourish.

In Western cultures there is a tendency to ignore any maintenance of good health and carry on as we are until things go wrong.  By the time any action is taken, the illness ay be well set-in.  if we take the initiative to look after our health on an ongoing basis, energy healing techniques such as Reyad Sekh Em enable us to intervene and correct any imbalances within the personal energy field before any signs of illness have manifested.  In this way we can take a more preventative stance in our health and well-being.

REYAD SEKH EM HEALING


Developed by Joanna Bristow-Watkins following eight separate visits to Egypt, Reyad Sekh Em is an ultra high vibrational Egyptian energy healing system; a unique combination of the elemental healing rays (of earth, fire, water, air and spirit) and ancient Egyptian philosophies with the use of colour breathing, sound vibration, crystalline and angelic healing energies.

Healing is a gentle, relaxing therapy that engenders a feeling of wellbeing in the recipient. It will also target specific areas of the body, as required. A full treatment lasts about two hours. The recipient lies fully clothed on a treatment couch. The healer either places her hands lightly on the body, or within the aura, depending on where they are guided by the element being used. The energy will go to the source of the imbalance and not just treat the symptom. Healing helps to restore vitality and energy and assists self-recovery from many aches, pains, disorders and diseases. There are no contra-indications to receiving Reyad Sekh Em and because it is non-manipulative, it complements all other forms of therapy and natural health care. As we are all individuals, people respond to healing differently. Some people feel a tingling warmth or heat; others do not. Some feel relaxed, light-headed, sad, calm, very happy, or any combination or even none of these. Most people experience a sense of relaxation and calm wellbeing.   Healings with Joanna, whether in person or as a distant healing session, are like an alignment to your personal soul purpose; being very deep indeed they are perhaps best suited to individuals who would welcome a boost to their spiritual progress.  Best results are felt three days to three weeks later as it can take this long for the energy adjustments to settle.  Occasionally, an individual can experience a worsening of symptoms during this period and this should be seen a good sign that 'issues' are being addressed by the body.  It is important in these instances to remain positive about the final outcome as otherwise maximum benefit from the session may be lost.

Reyad Sekh Em can be learned as a natural progression from Reiki, although others learn the system having never felt drawn to learn Reiki.  It's an intensive programme best suited to those who can process a high volume of information in a short time.  The Ancient Egyptians (who called themselves Khemitians) identified five stages of life, each one of which was represented by a sacred symbol: Dawn known as Kheper (the scarab), high noon known as Ra (the ram), the afternoon sun was Oon (the wise), full afternoon sun Aten (the wiser) and finally at dusk Amen (the hidden or veil).  ‘Initiations’ are given into Reyad Sekh Em by placing these sacred symbols (Kheper, Ra, Oon, Aten and Amen, one at each training Level 1-5; where Level 2 is the Practitioner level) into the aura at specific chakra points, opening the body to the angelic elemental healing rays of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit.  These symbols manifest in a dimension normally outside our awareness causing a change in the energy field.  Our own vibrational state is then enhanced to bring awareness of other dimensions and accept the loving guidance of the life-forces within them. 

MINERAL DEFICIENCIES

Approximately 99% of the body is comprised of minerals, yet minerals are generally overlooked when nutrition is considered even though vitamins are basically useless without them. Gary Price Todd, M.D., says the human body needs at least 60 trace minerals in order to maintain a disease and ailment free state but foods grown today commonly contain no more than 18. This is due to a mineral deficiency in the soils around the world. In prehistoric times, soil contained approximately 80 minerals. However, millions of years of wind and rain erosion and centuries of unwise farming have drastically reduced the mineral content of the earth's surface.  According to Dr. Todd, minerally deficient soils produce sick plants, which in time produce sick animals and ultimately sick human beings. Dr. Linus Pauling, two times Nobel Laureate, said that every sickness, every disease and every ailment could be traced to a mineral deficiency.

DIETARY CHANGES

 

To make an immediate improvement on your wellbeing, the simplest thing to do is to drink more water, preferably at least 2 litres a day.  Make sure it is good quality pure water, well filtered.  The purity of your drinking water can be analysed using a TDS meter, which measures Totally Dissolved Solids and costs around £50.  The purity of bottled water varies greatly depending on the source and bottling process - plus there can be a migration of toxins across from plastic bottles.   Water plays five vital roles in the maintenance of a healthy body, it acts as a transport agent, coolant, lubricant, dispersant and electro-magnetic enhancer.  A dehydrated body is severely disadvantaged on all of these processes and furthermore, water is the medium for our personal cellular vibration.  Proper hydration is therefore essential in order to maintain a high vibrational state keeping us in harmony with higher dimensional realities.

Ideally the water should be thoroughly cleansed of heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, hormones etc.  If the cost can be justified, I recommend a good built-in filter such as a reverse osmosis de-ioniser (RODI) system. However, although helping with mechanical filtration, this has a harsh effect on the life force of the water and its molecular structure!  Ideally the water should be re-energised by Reiki or other healing techniques, sacred symbols, energising mats, aqua-vortex funnels, or even through prayer or showing love & gratitude for the water (for further details see the Masaru Emoto books).  Many companies now supply large containers of filtered water and will deliver, otherwise check the various affordable alternatives. 

Make a conscious effort to detoxify your environment both inside and out!  I recommend reading Detox Your World by Shazzie which recommends avoiding all contact with pollutants, toxins (alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, tea etc) and radiation sources such as mobile phones, TVs, PCs, microwaves etc.  Reduce and ideally eliminate sugar from the diet but do not replace it with artificial sweeteners such as aspartame as these are considerably worse and should be avoided altogether.   

Eat as much fresh, organic or locally grown farm produce (with minimal use of non-organic fertilisers, pesticides and growth hormones as possible).  Meat and dairy products particularly can contain growth hormones and anti-biotics routinely added to maximise productivity levels.  Read the Felicity Lawrence book What's Not On The Label but make sure you do so on an empty stomach!  As much as possible, it’s also best to avoid chemical additives (especially mono-sodium glutamate, aspartame etc.) and colourants in food and drink. Microwaved food also has an immediate negative affect on the immune system.

RAW FOOD DIETS

What is a raw food diet and why might it be beneficial?

A raw diet is generally defined as a diet where all of the foods, drinks and supplements consumed have not been heated beyond about 115 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 46 degrees Celsius (plus or minus 10 degrees or so, depending on the information source) which is the temperature at which food enzymes are destroyed. Food enzymes have a beneficial effect on the human body, so one purpose of the diet is to maintain these enzymes but also, by not cooking the food, a better nutrient content is also retained.  The diet usually consists of raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, shoots, sprouts, superfoods such as algae, sea vegetables, bee pollen, honey, Goji Berries, Macca and cacao nibs.  

Most raw foodists are either vegan (no animal products) or vegetarian (some animal products but no meat or fish).  Although the greatest benefits are experienced by those on a 100% raw food diet, embracing a higher proportion of raw foods is a desirable goal for anyone seeking healthy maintenance of their body and nurtures a connection with nature which ultimately heightens spiritual awareness.  Many people find that increasing their intake of raw foods is an exciting personal adventure, albeit leading to some 'concern' from less open minded friends and family, and requires some support from specialist suppliers or even a raw food coach.
